USmax President speaks “Doing Business at Homeland Security” at Best Practices Workshop for Small Business

David S. Pak, President of USmax Corporation, a DHS protégé firm doing business at Homeland Security, spoke about Best Practices for Small Business hosted by Team Maryland Network at Arinc Offices in Annapolis, Maryland. David’s presentation was focused on Small Business challenges and milestones, key attributes for successful large prime relationship and thoughts on lessons learned as a small business. This event was moderated by Helga Weschke, Director Federal Business Relations Maryland Dept. of Business and Economic Development. Welcome remarks by Mr. John M. Belcher, President & CEO Arinc; with fellow featured speakers The Honorable Paul A. Schneider, Former Deputy Secretary Homeland Security; Lori Stallard, Vice President, Business Development Homeland Security Solutions, General Dynamics Information Technology; and, Ludmilla Parnell, Director, Business Development Small Business Partnerships, General Dynamics Information Technology.

Team Maryland Network is an initiative of the Maryland Department of Business and Economic Development and the Federal Facilities Advisory Board (FFAB) created in 2009. The leadership and board of FFAB is by appointment of Maryland Governor Martin O’Malley. The Team Maryland Networks Mission is to increase Federal Procurement expenditures with businesses throughout the state and to foster cooperation between large, medium and small Maryland based companies in pursuing federal contracts. The mission of the FFAB is to foster greater interaction and collaboration between the State of Maryland, federal facilities and private companies; to support and strengthen federal mission objectives and to enhance business opportunities for Maryland companies.
